Evan graduated Cum Laude from the Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa where he was on the Dean’s Honour List. While at law school, Evan was active in the Centre for Law, Technology and Society (CLTS), writing research papers on Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain technology for the CLTS Director Prof Martin-Bariteau, as well as being selected by Prof. Michael Geist to complete a Technology Law Internship focusing on regulatory compliance and privacy concerns for the Commission for Complaints for Telecom-television Services. Prior to law school, he obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Queen’s University. During his undergraduate Evan worked remotely at Scotiabank Toronto as an Analyst for Global Risk Management where he aided in overhauling and aligning the retail banking credit policy for eighteen Central and South American countries. Evan summered at RPM Technologies working for their In-House Counsel in drafting, negotiating and settling licensing agreements. He also interned with Jones Horwitz Bowles & Associates while studying in Ottawa. Evan has also worked at First National Financial as a tax analyst and Manulife Financial as a communications intern. He has experience in policy creation and implementation having served as a researcher and drafter for an MLA with the New Brunswick Legislative Assembly. Evan has completed the Canadian Securities Course and is an avid athlete who enjoys skiing, basketball, soccer, tennis, keeping up on current affairs and travelling in his spare time.
