The Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) requires employers to ensure at least one certified member represents management and one certified member represents workers on the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC). After the completion of Part One certification of JHSC members, Part Two workplace-specific hazard training is required.
This course will provide training on the significant hazards common to the majority of workplaces in the industrial sector. In order to achieve complete certification from the Ministry of Labour (MOL), completion of workplace-specific training is required for JHSC members.
This course, designed by Norm Keith, B.A., J.D., LL.M., CRSP, a leading employment and labour lawyer and author of Canadian Health & Safety Law, will provide JHSC members with workplace-specific hazard training, a required component of the JHSC certification process in Ontario.
After successful completion of Parts One and Two, the MOL confirms certified member status.
