Prime Minister Trudeau is making good on his electoral promise to “legalize marijuana”. The promised law was tabled on April 13, 2017. This seminar will help human resources managers to better assess and manage the legal risks in the workplace associated with marijuana and other lawful or unlawful substances. The current state of the law will be discussed, including what exactly constitutes “therapeutic marijuana”, the issues related to implementing a drug and alcohol program in a unionized or non-unionized setting, human rights issues and situations in which drug and alcohol testing is permitted in Québec. In addition, psychiatrist Dr. Frédéric Benoit will discuss the neurocognitive and psychiatric impacts, addictions and their interface with the workplace.
Schedule
