Canadian companies face increased scrutiny over an ever-widening range of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) information. These emerging disclosure requirements include the new anti-greenwashing provisions in the Competition Act introduced by Bill C-59, the forced and child labour in supply chains regime, and the federal government’s recently announced plans to require large private companies to disclose climate-related financial information, among others.
