Overview

Fasken is pleased to invite you to its annual conference on construction and infrastructure law. The 2025 edition presents four practical conferences led by our seasoned lawyers, who will explore recent developments in case law, emergency measures, R-20 issues and surety bonds in the construction industry.

A must-attend event for all industry stakeholders, including developers, project owners and legal advisors looking to anticipate potential challenges and strengthen their practices.

An overview of 2025’s notable decisions on latent defects, contracts, calls for tenders, unforeseen events and other critical issues in construction law.

 

8:50 a.m. : Emergency Measures in Construction: Avoiding Irreparable Harm

Presented by Nathalie-Anne Béliveau and Annie Bernard

An overview of the remedies available in emergency situations, including interim injunctions and stay applications, illustrated with practical examples from our practice group.

 

10:00 a.m. : Act R-20: Simplify Your Projects by Understanding How It Applies to the Work

Presented by Audrey Charest & Yves Turgeon

A practical conference to clarify the scope of Act R-20, avoid costly mistakes and secure your projects by better understanding the criteria for its application.

 

10:50 a.m. : On the Menu: Sureties Served Three Ways

Presented by Julie Banville and Alexandre Belzile

A comparative analysis of the main types of bonds used in the construction industry, including those issued to developers in real estate projects.
