Overview

Fasken, in collaboration with the European firm Eisenführ Speiser and CAE, is pleased to invite you to an exclusive event bringing together leading experts to explore key developments in intellectual property law in Europe and Germany, and their strategic impact on Canadian businesses across prominent Canada–Germany sectors such as automotive and mobility technologies, batteries and critical minerals, aerospace, defense and security, and advanced machinery.

This discussion will provide essential insights into the new risks, opportunities, and trends that Canadian companies must anticipate when operating or innovating internationally and will seek to provide you with practical advice on how to manage these risks and maximise these opportunities. The panelists will address, among other topics:

  • Recent trends and major developments in IP law within the European Union and Germany (including key issues relating to trade secrets, industrial designs, copyrights and trademarks);
  • The interaction between artificial intelligence, data mining and IP law;
  • The impact of the Data Act compliance and trade secrets in Europe;
  • Jurisdictional considerations, including the Unified Patent Court (UPC) and the advantages of certain European jurisdictions;
Please note that the conference will be conducted in English only
