On August 3, 2005, George Weston Limited announced the closing of the previously-announced transaction for the sale of its west coast aquaculture operations Heritage Salmon to EWOS Canada Ltd., a subsidiary of the Norwegian-based Cermaq ASA. Cermaq is a leading company in the aquaculture business, with feed and farming operations in Scotland, Canada, Chile and Norway. George Weston Limited is one of North America's largest food processing and distribution groups. EWOS Canada Ltd. was advised in this transaction by a team from Fasken Martineau led by Geoff Lyster and including Gary Ott, Carmine Boskovich and Angela Di Padova (competition).
