United Rentals acquires Venetor Group

On April 19, 2011, United Rentals of Canada, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of United Rentals, Inc. (NYSE:URI), completed the previously-announced acquisition of Venetor Group, the largest independently owned equipment rental provider in Ontario. United Rentals, Inc. is the largest equipment rental company in the world, with an integrated network of 531 rental locations in 48 states and 10 Canadian provinces. United Rentals was advised in this acquisition by Fasken Martineau with a team that included, among others, John Sabetti, Leslie Rose and Daniel Fuke (corporate/M&A); Patrick Gannon and Maria Giagilitisis (labour); Aaron Stefan (banking); Ross Gascho (pensions); and Mitchell Thaw (tax).
