The Andersons and Lansing Trade acquire Thompsons for US$150 million

On July 31, 2013, The Andersons, Inc. (The Andersons) and Lansing Trade Group, LLC (Lansing) announced the finalization of their acquisition of Thompsons Limited (Thompsons) for CDN $150 million. Both companies will equally own the business, which will continue to operate under the Thompsons name. Lansing's existing merchandising operations in Ontario will be consolidated into Thompsons. The Andersons operates across North America with diverse interests in agribusinesses. Lansing is a merchandising company focused on the movement of physical commodities.
