Medgate receives large controlling strategic investment

On March 23, 2016, Medgate announced its receipt of a large strategic investment by the growth equity team at Norwest Venture Partners (NVP) and a group of co-investors including Georgian Partners and BMO Financial Group. NVP and Georgian Partners’ deep industry experience will fortify Medgate in its efforts to secure global leadership in the enterprise Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS) software market. Medgate is one of the largest and fastest-growing EHS businesses in the industry, offering a powerful SaaS-based solution that captures, tracks, and reports essential corporate data pertaining to environmental, health and safety management. Fasken Martineau advised Medgate and its selling shareholders with a team led by Craig Brown that included Bradley Freelan, Jessica Catton Rinaldi, Will Shaw, Reid Crombie, Ryan Mapa, David Steinhauer, Mitchell Thaw, John Beardwood, Armand Benitah, Gina Croce and Tara Ballingall.
