Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton

A $45 million lawsuit was filed against Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton (BCS) by Kaillie Humphries, who was a member of the team, and additionally sought to be released from BSC in order to compete for the United States. The lawsuit alleged that Ms. Humphries had been subjected to verbal and mental abuse by team coach Todd Hays and that BCS had not taken appropriate measures to intervene or sanction Mr. Hays. Ms. Humphries applied for an urgent, mandatory injunction seeking to compel her release from BCS to team USA. The application was dismissed finding in favour of BCS on all points. Ms. Humphries discontinued her claim against BCS, which later decided to release Ms. Humphries.

Fasken acted as counsel to BCS with a team that included Arif Chowdhury, Vhari Storwick and Desmond Mitic.
