Fasken has acted as legal counsel for Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton (BCS), a national sport organization, and its management in a number of sport arbitration and third party independent investigation matters involving athletes’ status, benefits, selection, carding and agreements, which included panel reviews of BCS’s decisions under the organization’s Appeals Policy and appeals at the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada (SDRCC).
Mandates included domestic cross-provincial matters involving parties in Ontario and Alberta.
Fasken has advised BCS with a team lead by Alexandra Logvin and including Arif Chowdhury, Gabrielle Cyr, Novera Khan and Desmond Mitic.
