Fasken acted as counsel for FortisBC, British Columbia's largest gas utility and second largest electric utility, in an inquiry before the British Columbia Utilities Commission determining the appropriate scope of regulation of utilities owned and operated by municipalities. One aspect of the BCUC's determination has been appealed and Fasken is also acting on the appeal.
Fasken is representing FortisBC before the BCUC with a team led by Matthew Ghikas and including Niall Rand. On the appeal, the team is led by Tariq Ahmed with Geoff Cowper K.C. and Matthew Ghikas.
