On July 16, 2018, GCR, Inc. (“GCR”), a portfolio company of Hammond, Kennedy, Whitney & Company, Inc. (“HKW”) completed the acquisition of Ottawa-based MB3 Technologies, Inc. (“MB3”), a software development company focused on emergency grants management.
HKW is a private equity firm with offices in Indianapolis and New York focusing on lower middle-market companies throughout North America. GCR is an international professional services firm partnering with government and commercial clients to deliver consulting services and technology solutions in aviation, elections, urban and transportation planning, energy, public safety and disaster recovery. This acquisition further strengthens GCR’s software solutions for public safety and disaster recovery.
Fasken advised HKW as Canadian counsel in connection with this transaction with a team led by Jack Yu and including Darrell Jarvis, Andrew Nunes (Corporate/Commercial); Mitchell Thaw and Paul Casuccio (Tax Law).
