NLPatent, a Toronto-based legaltech startup specializing in AI-powered patent research and analytics, has raised $3 million USD in an all-equity seed round. The financing was co-led by Silicon Valley investors Draper Associates and Mighty Capital, with participation from The LegalTech Fund, Storytime Capital, and The51.
NLPatent’s platform leverages proprietary natural language processing and domain-tuned large language models to help IP professionals make faster, more informed decisions. NLPatent intends to use this funding to expand its presence across North America and Europe and accelerate product development, including building fully agentic workflows for complex patent tasks.
