Awendio Solaris

Awendio Solaris has announced a new partnership with the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) to support cleanenergy manufacturing in Québec.

The company will invest $1 billion CAD to build a major solar cell manufacturing facility and research center in East Montréal.

The facility will not be located on Kahnawà:ke Territory but in Tiohtià:ke, on historical Kanien’kehá:ka Territory. Awendio Solaris is committed to reconciliation and economic inclusion, ensuring meaningful First Nations participation.

This partnership is about more than clean energy — it reflects respect for Indigenous territory and a shared commitment to a sustainable economic future.

A Fasken team composed Peter Villani, Elias Retsinas and Pierre-Christian Labeau advised Awendio Solaris in this project.
