On April 1, 2026, Tanabe Pharma Corporation (“Tanabe Pharma”), a Bain Capital portfolio company, closed a US$2.5 billion strategic transaction involving the global sale of its ALS therapy business, including the leading treatment RADICAVA®, to Shionogi, a Japanese pharmaceutical company. The transaction supports the long term growth and sustainability of the RADICAVA® brand by aligning it with a buyer focused on rare diseases and committed to the ALS community.
