On June 11, 2026, Plenary Americas LP and Walsh Investors, each infrastructure developers and investors, reached financial close on the US$410 million University of Kentucky Central Utility Plant P3 project in Lexington, Kentucky. The project includes the design, construction, financing, operation, maintenance and enhancement of a central utility plant and associated distribution systems serving both new and existing campus facilities.
This matter is notable for its scale and complexity as a public-private partnership-style energy infrastructure project supporting the long-term modernization of a major U.S. university campus. The transaction required sophisticated coordination across project structuring, procurement, financing and contractual arrangements, enabling effective risk allocation and the successful delivery of a critical campus utility system.
Fasken advised Plenary Americas LP and Walsh Investors with a team led by Ella Plotkin and Marc Lefler and included Adam Lewinberg, Zackary Burashko and Shazad Omarali.
