In June 2025, Roses FC Montréal, the first professional women's soccer club in Québec, completed its organizational structuring and financing as a founding club of the Northern Super League (NSL), Canada's first professional women's soccer league.
The transaction supported the launch of professional women's soccer in Canada through the establishment of one of the league's founding clubs. In addition to advising Roses FC Montréal on its organizational structure and financing, Fasken assisted in developing the governance structure of the Northern Super League, in which each founding club holds an ownership interest. The matter involved corporate, labour and employment, intellectual property and real estate considerations supporting the creation and operation of a new professional sports organization.
Fasken advised Roses FC Montréal with a team led by Michel Boislard and Caitlin Rose and included Alexandra Lazar, Camille Marceau, Valérie Chapdelaine, Jonathan Halwagi, Karine Fournier, Janouk Charbonneau, Elias Retsinas, Joanie Lapalme and Lina Bensaidane.
