Foran Mining Corporation (Foran Mining) (acquired by Eldorado Gold in April, 2026), is the owner of the McIlvenna Bay Project, a copper-gold-zinc-silver mine. The mine produced its first copper concentrate in June 2026. The initial life of mine is anticipated to be 18 years, and it is expected to produce on average 41 million pounds of copper, 20,000 ounces of gold, 444,000 ounces of silver, and 54 million pounds of zinc annually.
This Project was one of the first projects to be identified as a project of national interest by the Federal Government and referred to the Major Projects Office for consideration.
Fasken advised Foran Mining during the development and construction of the project, with a team led by Fergus McDonnell (Mining, Infrastructure and Projects), and including Patrick Frost (Mining, Infrastructure and Projects) and Jenaea Reimann (Infrastructure and Projects).
