Jean Michel has acted on behalf of issuers, securities dealers and institutional investors in various securities offerings. He has also acted for financial institutions in connection with issuances of structured products.
Jean Michel has been involved in several major acquisition, sale, merger or going-private transactions of publicly-traded companies, including friendly and hostile take-over bids and complex statutory arrangements. He has also been involved in a large number of private M&A transactions.
His practice includes advising publicly-traded companies concerning corporate and securities matters, including compliance with timely and continuous disclosure obligations, the solicitation of proxies for shareholder meetings, the launch of share buyback programs and the implementation of securities-based compensation arrangements, and assisting them in their interactions with stock exchanges and securities regulators.
Jean Michel joined the firm in 2005 and was admitted to the firm’s partnership in 2013.
Jean Michel is a member of the Corporate Finance Advisory Committee of the Autorité des marchés financiers (Quebec). He also sits on the board of directors of the Canadian Club of Montreal.
