Overview

Julia advises court-appointed officers, lenders, companies, and other stakeholders on a wide range of insolvency and bankruptcy proceedings. Her practice includes both in-court and out-of-court solutions, such as receiverships, proposals, restructurings, liquidations, debt enforcement and recovery, negotiations, and the assertion of contractual and creditors’ rights.

Julia has been involved in a number of files across diverse industries, including retail, real estate, construction, insurance, banking and financial services, trucking, technology, hospitality, and oil and gas.

Julia graduated magna cum laude from the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law. During law school, she received the Insolvency Institute of Canada Prize in Insolvency Studies for achieving the top grade in the bankruptcy and insolvency law course. She was also elected as the Vice-President, Equity of the Faculty's student government, served as a Teaching Assistant for the first-year Legal Foundations course and Dispute Resolution practicum and was a Legal Writing Academy Leader.

Julia summered and articled with the Firm and was seconded to PC Financial. She speaks Korean and conversational French and is an active member of the firm's Asia-Pacific Practice Group.
