Laura Epplett graduated Cum Laude from the Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa where she was on the Dean’s Honour List and received the Sherrard Kuzz LLP Prize for highest standing in Labour Law. Laura also received the Greg Ratushny Scholarship for her enthusiastic contribution to the community as the creator of an interactive youth internship on Dispute Resolution in partnership with the Ontario Justice Education Network, and also served at their 2017-2018 Justice Education Fellow. At law school Laura was selected as one of two students for the Advanced Disability Rights Litigation Project, and served as a teaching assistant for the Dispute Resolution Practicum. Prior to law school, Laura obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts from McMaster University graduating Summa Cum Laude. She was also on the Dean’s List for all four years of her studies and gained membership to the Golden Key International Honour Society for ranking in the top 15% of her class. During her time at McMaster Laura wrote an undergraduate thesis on Workplace Harassment, was the Director of Student Engagement for the McMaster Pre-Law Society, and Vice President of Finance for the McMaster Young Liberals. Previously, Laura has worked as a Summer Student for Hooper Law and as a Legal Assistant for Pelton Law where she interviewed clients and drafted legal pleadings. Laura enjoys volleyball, singing, cooking authentic Italian cuisine, and spending time with her dog “Fritzie”.

Laura summered at the Firm in 2017 and was seconded to the Workplace Safety & Insurance Appeals Tribunal.
