Madeleine MacLean is currently attending the University of Victoria, Faculty of Law. Prior to law school, Madeleine obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Ottawa, where she was on the Dean’s Honour List. During the summer of 2022, Madeleine was a Legal Intern at one of Canada’s largest institutional investment management corporations, where she worked in corporate transactional law, reviewing and drafting various governance agreements and contractual amendments. She is also an experienced customer service professional. Madeleine plays an active role in the UVic Law community, where she is the Health and Wellness Representative on the Law Students’ Society, an editor for the Faculty of Law’s peer-reviewed law journal, and a volunteer with Pro Bono Students Canada. Madeleine is the recipient of the Betty and Gilbert Kennedy Scholarship in Law for academic achievement. She also participated in the 2021 UBC Environmental Law Negotiation Competition, where she and her partner placed first. Outside of law school and work, Madeleine enjoys card games, skiing, and running, and is an avid Leafs fan.
