Montréal (Canada) – Fasken Martineau heartily congratulates Jean M. Gagné, the first recipient of the Prix Charles-Émile Bélanger. This award is one of three new awards bestowed by the Board of Governors and presented by the Faculty of Administration of the Université de Sherbrooke during its 60th anniversary gala.
Established in honour of the first dean of the Faculty of Administration, the Prix Charles-Émile Bélanger is awarded to a graduate in recognition of their initiative, involvement and commitment to the development of their business, community and alma mater. This award is the most prestigious honour bestowed by the Board of Governors.
“We are very proud that Jean M. is the first recipient of this prestigious award. He graduated in 1983 with a Master’s Degree in Taxation from the Faculty of Administration of the Université de Sherbrooke and is very deserving of this recognition in acknowledgement of his remarkable career,” stated Éric Bédard, Managing Partner for the Québec region.
Jean specalizes in commercial and business law, specifically in mergers, acquisitions, as well as public and private financings in the mining industry. In addition to this, he negotiates major commercial contracts related to this field. Jean's expertise is widely recognized both in Canada and internationally.
