Toronto (Canada) – Fasken is pleased to announce that two Partners, Annie Bernard and Antonio (Tony) Di Domenico, have been named the 2017 Lexpert Rising Stars: Leading Lawyers Under 40 winners. The award honours Canadian lawyers working in law firms, government, academia and as in-house counsel, who have distinguished themselves in their craft, demonstrated strong leadership skills and involvement in their community.
Annie is an experienced litigator, working in the Montreal office, focusing on a broad range of complex matters, including construction law and class action litigation. She is president of the Construction Law Committee of the Canadian Bar Association - Québec region and the secretary of the board of the Project Management Institute - Montréal Chapter. In the spirit of community, for the last eight years Annie has been the president of the Théâtre Le Clou, whose mission is to bring the love of the theater to youth.
Tony is a leading competition lawyer, advising on all aspects of Canadian competition law. Based in Toronto, he is Regional Leader of the Antitrust/Competition & Marketing group. As former counsel to Canada's Commissioner of Competition, Tony now represents parties in merger reviews, civil and criminal investigations, litigated proceedings before the Competition Tribunal and class action litigation. Tony is an adjunct professor at Osgoode Hall Law School in competition law, a member of the Leadership of the American Bar Association’s Section of Antitrust Law and chair of the Ontario Bar Association’s Class Action Section. Tony’s community work includes serving as a Board Director for the Hockey Association for the Developmentally Challenged and the Italian Chamber of Commerce of Ontario.
