Montréal (Canada) – Fasken is pleased to announce that Raymond Chrétien, C.C., Partner and Strategist Advisor located in the Montréal office, has recently been promoted to Companion of the Order of Canada, the highest degree, in honour of his service to Canada and humanity. Mr. Chrétien has been appointed for his contributions as a Canadian diplomat for nearly 40 years.
“Congratulations to Mr. Chrétien for this prestigious award that honours his remarkable contributions as an ambassador to our country. We are proud and honoured to have him as a member of the Firm,” said Peter Feldberg, Firm Managing Partner.
Mr. Chrétien is the former Ambassador of Canada to France, the United States, Belgium, Mexico, and the Congo. His extensive knowledge and high-level experience in the business community, international financing agencies, government affairs and international negotiations and trade agreements add further value to the advice the Firm provides to its clients, whether they are companies doing business in Canada or Canadian businesses expanding in the United States, Mexico, Europe, South America and Africa.
The Order of Canada is the cornerstone of the Canadian Honours System. Presented by the Governor General of Canada, it recognizes outstanding achievement, dedication to the community, and service to the nation.
