Johannesburg (South Africa)—Lethukuthula Kunene joins Fasken as a partner in the Corporate & Commercial group in the Johannesburg office.
Lethukuthula (Lethu) brings extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), with a strong track record in the energy, projects, and infrastructure sectors. His practice spans both local and cross-border transactions, and he is known for his strategic approach to complex deals. Lethu has also advised on private equity, capital markets, and fund formation matters, representing superannuation funds and investment firms in both South Africa and Australia.
Before joining Fasken, Lethu practised at leading law firms in South Africa and Australia, where he advised on high-value, international transactions in sectors such as renewable energy, and tech. His experience also includes advising on SPAC listings, private equity investments in mining, and fund establishment for real estate investments.
