Toronto (Canada) - Fasken partners Jonathan Wansbrough, Michael Shortt, and Nicole Park have been named Lexpert Rising Stars for 2025.

Jonathan Wansbrough is a partner in Fasken’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution group. He focuses on securities litigation and advises issuers, investment dealers, and other market participants on complex regulatory investigations, compliance issues and corporate governance matters. Jonathan is also frequently retained for shareholder-related and other commercial disputes.
Michael Shortt is a partner in the Intellectual Property department and co-founder of Fasken’s videogame industry group. He practices as both a lawyer and trademark agent, focusing on litigation and transactional in both common-law and civil-law jurisdictions. Michael has argued before courts of all levels in intellectual property, commercial, and public law cases, from the Copyright Board to the Supreme Court of Canada. His law review articles have been cited approvingly by the Federal Court, Ontario Superior Court of Justice, and by both the Courts of Appeal for both Ontario and Alberta.
Nicole Park is a partner in Fasken’s Corporate/Commercial, Capital Markets and Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity groups. Focused on private equity transactions across diverse industries, Nicole also advises on corporate reorganizations, governance matters, business partnerships, corporate finance and commercial agreements.
