Overview

“M&A: A key driver for Indigenous economic reconciliation,” by The Globe and Mail

Vancouver Partner Zach Romano discusses the growing importance of Indigenous partnerships to the successful completion of major projects in an article published in The Globe and Mail.

In the piece, he explains how the introduction of new financial tools for Indigenous nations and businesses has played a critical role in enabling these communities to acquire equity stakes in major energy and infrastructure projects. He highlights in particular the federal government’s expansion of Indigenous loan guarantee programs.

“This is important because it increases access to affordable capital, which in turn gives more nations the opportunity to acquire larger equity ownership interests,” said Zach Romano.
