Montréal (Canada) - Marie-Josée Neveu, Fasken partner and Chair of the Firm’s Partnership Board, has been named a Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award Winner in the Board of Directors category by WXN Media. This recognition celebrates her leadership in governance and her impact on the strategic decisions that shape organizations and create opportunities for others to succeed.
"This recognition is a proud moment, not only for me, but for everyone at Fasken who believes in the importance of women's leadership," said Marie-Josée Neveu. “Throughout my career, I have believed that leadership carries a responsibility to create opportunities for others and to help build organizations where people can thrive. I hope this recognition encourages more women to pursue leadership roles with confidence, including on boards, and to continue opening doors for those who follow.”
A dedicated advocate for women’s leadership, Marie-Josée serves as a mentor to colleagues, supports women pursuing partnership, and helps create more equitable access to positions of influence.
She has served as Chair of Fasken's Partnership Board since January 2024. Drawing on over 30 years with the Firm, Marie-Josée advises boards of directors, special committees, executives and major shareholders on their most complex and consequential decisions. As both a board chair and trusted advisor to boards, she brings firsthand insight into the opportunities and challenges facing organizations today.
This recognition reflects her contributions to board governance at a time of significant regulatory, economic, social and technological change. Her commitment to governance extends beyond Fasken. She has served on the boards and governance committees of organizations including Centraide of Greater Montreal, Tourisme Montréal and the Institute of Corporate Directors, Quebec chapter and continues to collaborate with the ICD.
"This recognition speaks to Marie-Josée's longstanding contributions to governance and board leadership. As Chair of the Firm's Partnership Board and a trusted advisor to organizations navigating complex decisions and change, she brings exceptional perspective to her work. We are delighted to see her contributions recognized through this well-deserved honour," said Clarke Barnes, Firm Managing Partner, and Neil Kravitz, Firm Managing Partner-elect.
