Nicola (Nicky) Young is currently a JD/MBA student at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law and the Rotman School of Management. Prior to law school, Nicky completed a Bachelor of Arts in Economics at Brown University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and was nominated to the economics honour society Omicron Delta Epsilon. After completing her undergraduate degree, Nicky worked as a middle school math teacher. As a JD/MBA student, Nicky has served as Vice President of Finance for Women and the Law, as a volunteer for Law in Action Within Schools, and as a JD/MBA Fellow at the Capital Markets Institute. She was a recipient of the Andrew Alexander Kinghorn Fellowship for ranking in the top 10% of the Rotman MBA class in her first year and was a teaching assistant for the MBA courses Foundations of Strategic Management and The Economic Environment of International Business. During the past two summers, Nicky has worked on international human rights research projects as a Fellow at the South African Society for Labour Law and advised start-ups at The University of Toronto’s Entrepreneurship Hatchery incubator. In her spare time, Nicky enjoys coffee shops, reading novels, traveling, and trying new fitness classes.
