Overview

Raphaëlle Maltais joined Fasken’s Québec City office as a student.

Having always been interested in law, Raphaëlle completed her General Certificate in Law in 2021, confirming her passion for the field and motivating her to pursue a civil law licence at the University of Ottawa which she will complete in 2024.

Raphaëlle has been working at the Copyright Board Canada since 2021, where she has held various positions such as Executive Coordinator for the Vice President and the Corporate team, as well as Registry Assistant. This job allowed her to gain practical experience in an administrative tribunal and to see what goes on behind the scenes.

In law school, Raphaëlle has distinguished herself by her academic achievements, which have earned her a spot on the Dean’s Honour List numerous times. Eager to get involved outside of the classroom, Raphaëlle volunteered for Pro Bono Canada during the 2022–2023 academic year, was an executive member of the Sport Committee of the Association des étudiants et étudiantes en droit civil de l’Université d’Ottawa, and volunteered for the Big Brothers Big Sisters program of the Université d’Ottawa.

She is interested in developing her research skills in law and thus holds a position as a research assistant for Professor Benoît Pelletier in constitutional law. Also looking for new experiences to broaden her horizons, Raphaëlle will complete an exchange student program at the Université Jean-Moulin Lyon 3 in September 2023.

In addition to her professional activities, Raphaëlle loves playing soccer, hiking and spending time with her loved ones while enjoying sushi.
