Ridda Farooq maintains a broad practice as an Associate in Fasken's Banking and Finance group, supporting clients on a diverse range of matters.
Ridda is a graduate of the Lincoln Alexander School of Law at Toronto Metropolitan University, where she was part of the second inaugural graduating class of Canada’s newest law school. She has been recognized for her academic excellence as she was the recipient of the Dean’s Gold Medal, awarded to the student with the highest overall GPA in her graduating class.
During law school, Ridda was actively involved in a range of pro-bono and equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) initiatives aimed at advancing access to justice. She also developed and pursued a keen interest in business law and received the Honourable Justice Julia Shin Doi Prize in Corporate and Commercial Law for achieving the highest standing in the course. Ridda continues to give back to her community as an active volunteer, academic tutor, and peer mentor.
Before entering the legal profession, Ridda worked as a business manager, where she gained extensive experience in client service, business operations, and corporate strategy.
Ridda obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts from York University, graduating with distinction.
Prior to joining Fasken, Ridda practiced at another national law firm.
