Overview

Shanlee’s practice is focused on securities and capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, start-ups, shareholder activism and corporate governance. Shanlee has a business-friendly, “get the deal done” mentality, enabling her to develop close and trusting business relationships while delivering practical, timely and high-value advice on an array of complex legal issues and transactions. 

Shanlee has extensive experience advising clients on domestic and cross-border corporate finance transactions and public and private mergers and acquisitions. Shanlee frequently acts on going-public transactions, plans of arrangement, amalgamations, spin-outs, take-over bids, prospectus offerings and private placements.

In her emerging technology practice, Shanlee advises both tech companies and a wide range of investors in connection with a variety of transactions including venture capital, growth equity and private equity financings, acquisitions and divestitures and recapitalizations. She is also a trusted advisor in supporting the day-to-day corporate needs of the companies that she acts for.

Prior to practising law, Shanlee worked in finance for a large international bank and then for a Canadian financial institution. Shanlee holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation and her in-depth understanding of accounting, finance, business strategy and corporate governance allows her to better serve her clients.
