Shelby recently completed her third year law at the University of Alberta. While in law school, Shelby volunteered with Student Legal Services and worked part-time for a boutique firm specializing in strategic planning and business facilitation. Shelby also worked as a Research Assistant during her third year of law school. Prior to attending law school, Shelby worked in government relations where she gained valuable exposure in advocacy and legislative research. Shelby has also worked as a constituency assistant to a federal Member of Parliament and an intern for a federal Cabinet Minister.
Shelby has a Master of Arts in Public and International Affairs from York University. Shelby spent a semester abroad at Sciences Po Paris where she studied diplomacy and international law, and has participated in the International Model NATO in Washington D.C.
Outside of school and work Shelby is an avid long-distance runner, having completed the Boston Marathon in 2017. Shelby enjoys watching and playing sports, and is a member of the Faculty of Law Rugby team at the University of Alberta. Shelby returns to Fasken as an articling student after having summered at the firm.
