Richtree and Richtree Markets

In October 2004, Richtree Inc. and Richtree Markets Inc. (formerly the Canadian Master Franchisee of the Mövenpick trademarks) filed for protection under the CCAA. The proceedings were converted to proposal proceedings under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and Richtree's assets were sold to Richtree Market Restaurants Inc. Restructuring proceedings were successfully completed on January 23, 2006, and the Richtree restaurants continue to carry on business. The restructuring preserved in excess of 600 jobs. Jon Levin, Edmond Lamek and Carole Hunter of Fasken Martineau represented Richtree and Richtree Markets.  Aubrey Kauffman and Stuart Brotman represented the directors of Richtree and Richtree Markets.
