Scintilla Technologies, created by two ÉTS students, was acquired by Eventbrite, an event management and ticket sales platform. The transaction took place two years after the event management technology solutions company was launched. In 2013, Frédéric Morin and Ahmed Hadjeres founded the company while they were students at the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS). Through this acquisition, Eventbrite hopes to make technology engineered by Scintilla available to small- and medium-sized events that lack the means to invest in RFID scanners. A Fasken Martineau team, including Christian Jacques and Jean-Nicolas Delage, advised Scintilla Technologies during this transaction.
