Morgan Schaffer Inc.

On May 25, 2017, Morgan Schaffer Inc. (Morgan Schaffer), a global utility solutions provider located in Montreal that designs, develops, manufactures and markets an integrated offering of dissolved gas analysis (DGA), oil testing and data management solutions that simplify the condition assessment of large high-voltage transformers, was sold to ESCO Technologies Inc. (ESCO), an NYSE: ESE traded company. Morgan Schaffer was acquired by ESCO because of its market-leading position in DGA solution around the world. ESCO is a producer of engineered products and solutions for the aerospace, space, healthcare, wireless, consumer electronics, and electric utility industries. The Montreal business will join Doble Engineering and NRG Systems as part of ESCO’s Utilities Solutions Group operating segment. Morgan Schaffer fits perfectly with Doble and complements the recent addition of NRG Systems, and the buyer believes that these three companies joining forces will provide additional market opportunities and additional shareholder value. Fasken Martineau advised Morgan Schaffer with a team led by Denis Chaurette that included Diane Bertrand, Kadiatou Sow, Dan Su and Margarita Altankova.
