Investisssement Québec and la Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec

On May 29, 2018, Investissement Québec and la Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec announced their investments of $17 million and $27 million respectively in the share capital of Québec company La Maison Simons.

This is the first time since its creation in 1840 that La Maison Simon has allowed outside interests to take part in the company's capital. This is a necessary investment for the company, as it must now meet the needs of its customers by considering new digital shopping trends. These investments come at a time when La Maison Simons is embarking on a major $215M construction project for the erection of a new order processing centre to be built in the Quebec City area.

A Fasken team composed of Carl Tremblay, Anne-Marie Naud and Vincent Laforest-Lapointe represented Investissement Québec and the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec in this investment.
