On October 23, 2018, Fiera Capital Corporation (Fiera Capital) concluded an agreement with the Canadian mutual funds investment manager Canoe Financial LP (Canoe). Canoe thereby acquires, from Fiera Capital, the rights to manage nine mutual funds, units of which are distributed to retail investors. This agreement also provides that Fiera Capital will act as a sub-advisor to four of the nine mutual funds for which Canoe will act as investment fund manager.

With this transaction, Fiera Capital will focus on its main strengths, including serving institutional investors and private management clients, and its role as sub-advisor in strategic partnerships.

The transaction closed on February 22, 2019. A Fasken team consisting of François Brais, Élise Renaud, Gabriel Castiglio, Anabel Quessy, Frédérique Tremblay, Émilie Marceau, Marcelo Ciecha, Alain Ranger, Ryan Rabinovitch, Frédéric Barriault and Andrew Haikal advised Fiera.
