Agropur Cooperative concluded an agreement with Lactalis Canada Inc. to sell all shares of its Canadian yogurt business, Ultima Foods Inc.

On March 1st, 2021, Agropur Cooperative (“Agropur”), Canada’s largest dairy cooperative, announced the closing of the sale of all shares of Ultima Foods Inc., a division of Agropur dedicated to the business of yogurt, to Lactalis Canada Inc. Under the terms of the agreement announced on December 17, 2020, the acquisition includes IÖGO and IÖGO nanö yogurt brands as well as the Olympic yogurt, sour cream and kefir brand.

Founded in 1938, Agropur Cooperative is one of the 20 largest dairy industry players in the world.

A Fasken team led by Sylvie Bourdeau and composed of Véronique Harvey-Bertrand, Ralph Aziz (M&A), Alain Ranger (Tax), Huy Do, Chris Margison, Robin Spillette (Competition), Marc Novello, Élaine Laberge (Banking) Jean-Philippe Mikus, Amy Tang (Intellectual Property), Magali Cournoyer-Proulx (Labour), Marie-Andrée Thibault (Real Estate) and Jean-Philippe Therriault (Environmental) represented Agropur in connection with this transaction.
