On April 27, 2021, Vancouver-based legaltech company, Themis Solutions Inc. (doing business as Clio), announced their new valuation of US$1.6 billion after raising US$110 million in its series E funding led by T. Rowe Price with participation from OMERS Growth Equity. The investment makes Clio the first-ever legal practice management unicorn globally.
Clio transforms the legal experience through cloud-based and client-centred legal technology. They plan to use the investment to further their platform, strategic acquisitions, and partnerships aligned with the company’s mission.
Fasken acted as Canadian counsel to T. Rowe Price, with a team led by Ally Bharmal (Corporate Finance) and included Geoff Pedlow (Corporate Finance) and Mike Coburn (Tax).
