Fasken advised Agrarius Sustainability Engineered (as Issuer) and 27four Investment Managers (as transaction manager) on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange Limited (“JSE”) listing of a R10 billion Shari’ah compliant, sustainability-linked asset-backed note programme in the agriculture sector value chain.
The proceeds raised under the Agrarius Note Programme will be invested by the Issuer in sustainable and green projects in the agriculture sector value chain.
Fasken’s Banking and Finance team legal advisory services included attending to the establishment of the asset-backed note programme in conjunction with Agrarius Sustainability Engineered, its Shari’ah Advisory Committee and other transaction role players.
In addition the team attended to the establishment of the Issuer and Owner Trust as well as various other requirements, such as the JSE’s debt listing requirements.
