Fasken is counsel for FEI in seeking approval from the British Columbia Utilities Commission of the design of its rates for natural gas distribution service. This complex matter is contentious as it considers what proportion of FEI’s costs should be recovered from each customer group. FEI has not held a rate design since 2001, heightening its importance for the regulator and customers. There are 13 registered interveners, and represent various customer groups or interests. The process includes expert reports, written interrogatories, oral hearings and written submissions.
