On February 14, 2006, Becton, Dickinson and Company announced the completion of its US$255 million acquisition of GeneOhm Sciences, Inc., a pioneer in the development of molecular diagnostic testing for the rapid detection of bacterial organisms, including those known to cause healthcare-associated infections, a growing global healthcare problem. GeneOhm was advised by a team from Fasken Martineau comprised of François Duchesneau, Jocelyn Lafond and Alain Ranger.
