Tara is currently completing her JD at Thompson River’s University. At TRU, she has enjoyed being a research assistant for one of her professors completing research in sports law, one of her areas of interest. She is also senior editor of the TRU Law Review and VP finance of TRU Women in Law Club. Tara was named to the Dean’s List for her 1L year and 2L fall semester and was a recipient of the Dean’s course prizes for Evidence and Property Law. She spent her summer after first-year law coaching rowing in Nanaimo, BC.
Prior to law school, Tara worked as a project manager for the Nanaimo Child Development Centre to develop a pediatric equipment lending library on Vancouver Island and as a special events coordinate for Rowing BC.
Tara earned a Masters in Management Studies and a Bachelor of Science from Duke University. During her five years there, she was a varsity rower and team captain of the Duke Women’s Rowing team. She was nominated for the National Honda Inspiration Award and involved in events with the One Love Foundation. Tara also participated in the Duke ACE program where she had the opportunity to travel to Vietnam with fellow Duke and Stanford students and lead a summer program for middle school aged students in the Mekong Delta.
Tara grew up on Vancouver Island and enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, biking, skiing and surfing. She also loves to travel, cook, exercise and spend time with friends and family.
