Terence Bernard is an associate in Fasken's Capital Markets and Mergers & Acquisitions group. He is engaged in a broad corporate/commercial and securities law practice, advising both private and publicly-held companies.
Terence graduated from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University, where he was the recipient of awards including the Alistair Fraser Scholarship and the ‘Class of 1958 Prize’ in Contract Law. While at Dalhousie, Terence participated in the 2024 Davies Annual Corporate/Securities Law Moot where he and his teammates placed third overall. Additionally, Terence worked as a research assistant, with his work focusing on developing areas of digital commerce law including blockchain, online jurisdiction, and competition. He was also a peer mentor and a member of the Dalhousie Black Law Students’ Association.
Prior to law school, Terence earned a Bachelor of Commerce at McMaster University and was a member of the Men’s Varsity Soccer Team. Throughout his four years as a McMaster Student Athlete, Terence was recognized as a U Sports Academic All-Canadian.
In his spare time, Terence enjoys playing soccer and tennis and watching Formula 1.
Terence summered and articled with the firm. As a summer student, he was seconded to the Canadian Olympic Committee.
