Teresa Li is an Articling Student in Fasken's Toronto office.
Teresa graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. Prior to law school, she received a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering with honours from the University of Toronto. She was on the Dean’s List, and completed a minor in environmental engineering. She previously worked as an Engineering Assistant at the Regional Municipality of York, where she developed experience in tendering, designing and managing various road projects. During law school, Teresa was a senior editor for the Journal of Law and Equality, an executive member of the Asia Law Society, and a volunteer for Pro Bono Students Canada. She was a Research Assistant to a law professor, focusing on AI governance. Teresa also worked as a summer law student at Don Valley Community Legal Services and completed multiple internships at law firms in Markham, Ontario, and Beijing, China. As a student director of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers and a past mentorship committee member, Teresa has helped to introduce and organize multiple events and programs that create opportunities for Asian-Canadian legal professionals and promote diversity in the legal profession. During the pandemic, she volunteered for Project PROTECH as a language interpreter, providing real-time Chinese-English translations for workshops on public health and anti-Asian racism. Teresa was formerly a figure skating national medalist, and an assistant coach for young skaters. Fluent in Mandarin, she has facilitated exchanges and coordinated collaboration between the Chinese Figure Skating National Team and the coaches and professionals in Canada. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the violin, traveling, and trying out new recipes.
