Thanoja Gnanatheevam is currently attending the Lincoln Alexander School of Law at Toronto Metropolitan University. Prior to law school, she completed an Honours Specialization in Health Sciences with Biology at Western University, where she was on the Dean’s List and a recipient of the Western Scholarship of Distinction. During the summer of 2021, Thanoja was a Law Student in a large legal department in the courier industry, where she conducted legal research on various topics and gained practical exposure to arbitration, trademarks, contract review and file management. At Lincoln Alexander, Thanoja worked as an Academic Peer Tutor for first-year students and as a Research Assistant for law faculty in the Teaching and Research Norms and Support committee. In her first year of law school, she participated in the Canadian Client Counsel Competition where she and her partner placed as semi-finalists. Having volunteered for the 519 and for the Young Workers’ Rights Hub, Thanoja is passionate about community involvement and access to justice initiatives. In her spare time, Thanoja enjoys live music, playing soccer, reading and spending time with loved ones.
